Under certain circumstances, HAE Financial Pty Ltd may need to collect sensitive information about you, for example health information for life risk products. If we collect your sensitive information, we will do so only with your consent, or if it is required or authorised by law, and we take appropriate measures to protect the security of this information.

How do we collect and use your personal information?

We collect your personal information directly from you when you interact with us over the phone, in person, online, or when you complete applications. We may also collect your personal information from third parties, such as referral partners.

We use personal information to provide general financial product advice for life risk products, provide services you request, for internal administrative purposes, and for marketing and research.

Automated decision making transparency

In compliance with the Tranche 1 Privacy Act reforms taking effect on 10 December 2026, HAE Financial Pty Ltd is committed to transparency regarding automated decision making.

If HAE Financial Pty Ltd arranges for a computer program to use personal information to make, or substantially assist in making, decisions that could reasonably be expected to significantly affect the rights or interests of an individual, we will explicitly disclose:

• The kinds of personal information used in the operation of the automated decision making technology.
• The kinds of decisions made solely using automated decision making technology.
• The kinds of decisions where the automated decision making technology performs a function substantially and directly related to making a decision, that is, where the program is an essential part of the decision making process.

Disclosure and overseas transfer

We may disclose your personal information to third parties, such as professional services advisors, where you would reasonably expect us to disclose your information. Where we disclose your personal information to third parties overseas, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that data security and appropriate privacy practices are maintained.

How do we protect your personal information?

HAE Financial Pty Ltd will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information that we hold about you is kept confidential and secure. This includes having robust physical security, restricting access to personnel, and maintaining technological measures such as cloud based software and firewalls.

Notifiable data breaches

A data breach happens when personal information is accessed or disclosed without authorisation or is lost. In the event of an eligible data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, HAE Financial Pty Ltd is legally required to notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and affected individuals as soon as practicable.

We continuously monitor ongoing privacy reform proposals that may further tighten this mandatory notification timeframe to 72 hours.

Retention of personal information

We will not keep your personal information for longer than we need to. We will only retain your personal information for the duration of your relationship with us unless we are required to retain your personal information to comply with applicable laws, such as record keeping obligations.
