Advice should be proportionate
A life risk conversation does not need the apparatus of a full financial plan. General Advice carries real obligations and we take them seriously, but they should match the advice being given rather than dwarf it.
About HAE Financial
We are a specialist General Advice licensee for Australian life risk advisers. Privately owned, licensed since 2018, and run from the Gold Coast by two people who have sat exactly where you are sitting.
Why we built this
Pete and Marty were both practising financial planners. They wrote life insurance, they were good at it, and they liked the part of the job where you sit across a table from a family and work out what happens if the worst happens.
What they did not like was watching the economics of that work quietly come apart. Under a personal advice framework, every life risk case carried a full fact find, a Statement of Advice that ran to fifty pages, and a compliance review at the end of it. The cost of producing the advice kept climbing. The revenue for producing it did not.
General Advice was never a workaround. It is a scope of advice that already existed, already sat inside the Corporations Act, and already fitted the conversation they were actually having with clients. What did not exist was a licensee built deliberately around it, with the systems to make it work at volume rather than as a one-off.
Now that they have built it, they are opening it up for other like-minded advisers.
The proposition
With over twenty-five years of life insurance experience between them, HAE Financial was built by advisers, for advisers. We provide a streamlined General Advice framework that removes the traditional compliance bottlenecks, letting you focus on client protection and business growth.
Every practice is different, so we offer two partnership pathways. Choose the Authorised Representative model to tap directly into our proven systems, or select White Label Life to build a risk division completely under your own brand.
Whichever path you take, we equip you with a CRM built for General Advice. It manages your compliance while doubling as a marketing engine that can host your website, drive your social media and automate your campaigns.
What we believe
A life risk conversation does not need the apparatus of a full financial plan. General Advice carries real obligations and we take them seriously, but they should match the advice being given rather than dwarf it.
Client ownership sits with the adviser, one hundred per cent, for as long as you are with us and after you leave. It is written into the arrangement rather than promised verbally, because we know it is the thing advisers worry about most.
Most licensees are a cost centre that sends an invoice and a policy manual. We would rather be the reason your book grew this year, which is why the platform runs your marketing as well as your compliance.
If the audit trail is a separate task you do on a Friday afternoon, it will get done badly. Built into the job as you go, it becomes a by-product of advising properly rather than a chore at the end.
The directors
Two founding directors, both former financial planners. When you ring, one of them picks up.
Director & Compliance Manager · Responsible Officer
Pete brings hands-on advisory experience and regulatory expertise to his role. With a background as a financial planner, he understands the daily operational realities, the commercial pressures and the client-centred focus required to run a life risk practice, because he ran one.
Pete’s job is making sure our Authorised Representatives can operate confidently inside the regulatory boundaries, so their attention goes where it belongs: scaling their business and protecting their clients.

Director & Operations Manager
Marty brings a strong advisory foundation and sharp operational instinct to his role. Also a former practising financial planner, he understands the systems, the support and the small efficiencies advisers need to run a thriving risk business without drowning in admin.
Marty believes a licensee should be a growth partner, not a roadblock. His whole operational approach is built around turnkey systems that let advisers drop the personal advice burden and run an efficient, profitable life risk business.
0424 176 070Licensee support
The support behind every Authorised Representative, so the business runs properly rather than merely legally.
Authorisation, supervision, monitoring and the audit framework behind it. This is the core of what a licensee is for, and it is Pete’s day job.
Approved product list breadth across ten insurers, with the research behind it, so you are never forced to place a client somewhere that does not suit them.
Continuing professional development, technical support and the practice management help that turns a licence into a working business.
One conversation, thirty minutes. We will tell you honestly whether General Advice suits your business, and whether HAE is the right licensee for it. If the answer is no, we will say so.
